The Indian Light Infantry had a well-earned reputation both on the battlefield and on the polo field. Their Saturday 'post-polo' curry lunches were equally renowned for the food and the esprit de corps amongst the attendees. Passing the Regimental Fruit Chutney (always to the left of course) was as important as passing the port. This chutney is great with pork. It is a tasty mix of apricots, prunes, raisins, apples and dates that are cooked together with the spices, and create a rich fruity chutney. It is ideal with the pork chops and is wonderful with a piece of cheddar cheese. This Fruit Chutney is delicious with curries, cheeses, hot and cold meats.
